Fire Risk Assessment

Fire-Regulations.co.uk is a free reference site provided by Edgeworth Street Ltd (chartered building surveyors) to explain the new UK fire risk assessment regulations.

UK Fire regulations for commercial buildings changed on April 1st 2006, meaning that even if you have a fire certificate, you will now need to conduct a fire risk assessment on your commercial buildings.

All businesses are affected by the new fire regulations and it is the employers responsibility to ensure that a thorough fire risk assessment has been carried out and it's recommendations implemented.

Most smaller businesses will be carry out fire risk assessments themselves, but those wanting to know that the fire risk assessment covers all aspects of fire safety, Edgeworth Street can help by conducting an impartial fire risk assessment on your behalf.

Our fire risk assessment will include areas that an emplyer might not have considered, by examining ceiling and roof voids for example, to determine whether adequate fire protection is offered.

It's possible that if you have suspended ceilings, that over time, additional fittings such as lights, fans, air conditioning etc., could have compromised your fire protection.

Remedies can be simple and inexpensive. We are on your side, to provide objective, professional advice based on our many years experience gained as being chartered building surveyors.

Using our project management services to independently specify your fire protection equipment, rather than rely solely on fire protection sales people will undoubtedly save you money, whether it be for fire extinguishers, or a full blown emergency lighting and sprinkler system.

We will be carrying more information in these pages shortly, but in the meantime, Click here to add this page to your favorites.
